My favorite smell: The way the earth smells after it rains.

My favorite birthday dessert: a Peach cobbler baked by my husband. He’s my fave chef!
I will not eat: Avocado. They turn my stomach into a volcano that never erupts.
Technology I couldn't live without and why: My laptop - it takes me anywhere I want to go.

WEDNESDAYS ARE FOR WAITING
Waiting to bloom
I have a gorgeous plant in my front yard. When it blooms – large foot-long trumpets open up, blast their perfume, and stand straight out – a mesmerizing display of beauty.
Only God could think up such entertainment.
I plant my Gideon’s Trumpet or Angel’s Trumpet in the spring. It is a short, one stemmed plant.
And I wait.

First signs that a flower is on the way are the pods that appear – a promise of hope. I know the flower is on the way.

For me waiting bears a resemblance to my favorite plant.

But I am forced to wait, until just the right moment.

I feel trapped inside a pod, knowing this is not what life is meant to be, wanting freedom, beauty, joy…
But I am forced to wait, until just the right moment. In God’s economy everything has its perfect timing.

We have a number of angel trumpets growing in our backyard. Two things about the plant:
One, all parts of the plant are deadly poison; be sure to wash your hands good after touching leaves or flowers.
Two, these beautiful plants are easy to root. All I do is cut a branch off at an angle and stick it in the ground. That's all it takes to start a new one.
They are truly things of beauty. Ours are all white, but I love those with the pink tinge you show in your photographs.
Beautifully written. I love how God reveals himself in His creations. He's there, we just have to look and find Him. The other amazing thought for me is how similar yet uniquely complicated all His creations are. I stand amazed, thankful you took time to look, see and share. Jill
Maybe we are set on how our bloom looks. God's garden is full of wonder! I am trying to open up to what He wants, not what I expect. Does that make sense Van? I struggle waiting for the picture I have in mind yet I believe some unexpected things are happening around me.
Still waiting for the new thing. He said it is coming: ) Love your flower and I know you will bloom even brighter than this. Praying you see MORE than you hope for. Blessings, B

Oh, wonderful I had never heard of this plant. I just might have to get one. However, may have to keep it up high away from my dogs.
