Created for the Garden, but Lost in the Jungle!

While I absolutely love writing and blogging – I have decided to take a three week vacation from blogging. Please do me a favor – if you know anyone who is on the move or anyone who has been called to God’s Wait Room please refer them to my blog. I have written extensively on both topics. All are welcome to read from my archives.

I’m off to visit family - my favorite place, Table Rock Lake in Missouri to visit my mother for a while. During my upcoming vacation DH and I will also visit his family for a few days. So I am signing off and will be back in July.

About the Title of This Blog

Welcome! I am so glad you dropped by. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than to have a friend drop in for a visit.

Lots of people ask about my name. “Is it short for Vanessa?” I used to respond, “No, but I wish it were.” Vanessa seemed so pretty. Van is so - me! To the point, a little different, adventurous, off the path. Over the years I have grown into my name. Then one day I remembered that ‘van’ in Spanish means ‘they go.’ I realized Van fits me. Van – on the go. I am most content when I have an adventure or trip planned for my future. Yes, Van on the go – that’s me!

I mean it when I say, “I’m glad you stepped into my blog. I am convinced that we women were created for relationship. In fact, a while back, when I was asked what I like to collect, I responded, “Friends!” I can never have enough friends. I guess I could honestly say that the highlight of any given day for me is to sit with a friend and share life. That is exactly what I do here in my blog – share what I’m thinking and experiencing. I have come to learn that blogging for me is a way of ironing – ironing out the wrinkles in life. My greatest wrinkles happen when I step outside my garden and find myself lost in the jungle. In my blog you will read entries about my life in the garden – mostly positive experiences, happy moments, and interesting adventures. You will also read about the times I, or someone I know, stray into the jungle – those confusing and troubling times that try my soul.
