About Me
Fun Facts about Van Walton
My favorite smell: The way the earth smells after it rains.
My favorite sound: The first notes of a grand symphony.
My favorite way to relax: Sitting anywhere outside - on my front porch, on my deck, or by the lake, early in the morning with my first cup of coffee.
My favorite birthday dessert: a Peach cobbler baked by my husband. He’s my fave chef!
I will not eat: Avocado. They turn my stomach into a volcano that never erupts.
Technology I couldn't live without and why: My laptop - it takes me anywhere I want to go.
One thing that makes me smile: My sons' faces!

A TIME TO TILL...
but not what you might think.
Tillin’ time – what is that? I have been traveling a lot lately. All along my journey I see large tractors driving back and forth over acres and acres of farm land. In front of the large machines I see leftovers from last year’s crops. Behind, the black dirt is turned upside down and inside out.
I struggle to understand the new plan for the landscape. Why tear up that beautiful crop, strip away the beauty of the grain waving in the wind, and destroy all the efforts of spring planting?
Oh I know why. I learned all about crops and planting and harvesting years ago in elementary school.
I guess my heart reaches out to the broken earth because my heart relates to the tillin'.
I’ve read there is a time for everything~
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
A time to tear down… (from Ecclesiastes 1 & 3)
and a time to till. (my words)

Van...
I know that my tilling has been a lifelong dig. And while there have been seasons of harvest, I long for a finished product. I know that God is after glorious, but sometimes I am tempted to settle for partial...sometimes I long for it because full seems so hard.
We are meant for the tilling, and while I don't always welcome the cutting, the pulling, and the digging, I am content with the Gardener. He reminds me that there is more to come...that the best is yet to surface.
So I tarry with him in the dirt and yield to his touch. I pray the same sense of peace over your heart this very moment. May you find your rest within his gracious and tender hands this day. He's working for your good and for mine...for the world's. Let it not be in vain, Lord.
Happy Mother's Day and as always,
peace~elaine
No safer place to rest than in him arms...safe in his hands...God bless.
Oh sweet sister of mine. I am praying and lifting you and your family up right now. May a whisper of hope touch your heart right this very minute.
You are so loved Van!
Lysa
Precious friend, I hurt with you. I hurt for you. I will stand in the gap and pray when you cannot find the words to even whisper towards Heaven. I love you deeply and dearly - you are precious to me in so many ways. I am praying for the Light to break through the darkness. Please let me know when you get back to Charlotte.
Hugs,
Renee
My heart and prayers are with you my sweet friend!

Happy Mother's Day.
Love you ~ Rachel
Van,
I pray this Mother's Day will bring answers and relief to you as you wait upon the Lord to rescue your son from this dark place.
Know that I will continue to lift you and your family to the ONE who has all the answers you seek.
